Deadline To Challenge Property Tax Valuation Is Monday

Posted Thursday, February 25, 2010

You can challenge your property tax valuation and potentially save yourself some money but you have to act now as the deadline is this coming Monday, March 1st. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution recently reported:

Thousands of metro Atlanta property owners have challenged their property tax valuations with local officials this year. A record number of people are filing a little-known document called a tax return with their property appraiser’s office, asking for a lower value on their appraisal, and thereby, a break on their property taxes.

To fill out the necessary form click here and follow the instructions. It’s very simple and in these tough financial times every little bit helps.

Gwinnett Daily Post: Clark signs pledge

Posted Monday, February 22, 2010

From yesterday’s Gwinnett Daily Post:

Clark signs pledge

House candidate Josh Clark pledged to adhere to conservative beliefs, principles and values, signing The Mount Vernon Statement last week.

“The Mount Vernon Statement reaffirms our belief in the founding principles of the nation,” said Clark, one of three Republicans vying for state Rep. Bobby Reese’s House seat in District 98. Reese is running for Congress. “Constitutionally limited government is what allowed greatness to flourish in America, and it is the key to ensuring America’s greatness for future generations. I’m proud to add my name to this list of American patriots.”

The text of the pledge can be found at www.themountvernonstatement.com.

Political Notebook appears in the Thursday and Sunday editions of the Gwinnett Daily Post.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State House Candidate Josh Clark Signs The Mount Vernon Statement

(Buford) – Josh Clark, Candidate for State House District 98 today signed The Mount Vernon Statement of conservative beliefs, values and principles. Clark joins most of America’s leading Conservative organizations and over 20,000 Americans as signers of the document.

“The Mount Vernon Statement reaffirms our belief in the founding principles of the nation” Clark said. “Constitutionally limited government is what allowed greatness to flourish in America, and it is the key to ensuring America’s greatness for future generations” he added. “I’m proud to add my name to this list of American patriots.”

The Mount Vernon Statement contains:

“The change we urgently need, a change consistent with the American ideal, is not movement away from but toward our founding principles. At this important time, we need a restatement of Constitutional conservatism grounded in the priceless principle of ordered liberty articulated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

The conservatism of the Declaration asserts self-evident truths based on the laws of nature and nature’s God. It defends life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It traces authority to the consent of the governed. It recognizes man’s self-interest but also his capacity for virtue.

The conservatism of the Constitution limits government’s powers but ensures that government performs its proper job effectively. It refines popular will through the filter of representation. It provides checks and balances through the several branches of government and a federal republic.

A Constitutional conservatism unites all conservatives through the natural fusion provided by American principles. It reminds economic conservatives that morality is essential to limited government, social conservatives that unlimited government is a threat to moral self-government, and national security conservatives that energetic but responsible government is the key to America’s safety and leadership role in the world.”

“Thank you so much for doing your part to help us make a difference in the direction of our state. I’m sure you agree that rather than complaining about the direction our country is headed we must do something about it. I wish fundraising wasn’t such a big part of campaigning but unfortunately it is. Your contribution will help us win this election and be a strong conservative voice for you. With God’s help and a great accountability team we’re putting in place I won’t let you down. I will fight for less government, fiscal responsibility and integrity in how we conduct ourselves while serving you.” – Josh Clark
