Happy Thanksgiving

Posted Thursday, November 26, 2009

Dear Friends,

I wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and I’m blessed to have so much family close by. Our family will greatly miss two of my brothers who are serving in Afghanistan. Let’s take a moment to send up a prayer and perhaps even take a moment to call or write someone you know serving abroad and let them know you’re thankful for them.

While we celebrate our blessing, we recognize these are tough times for many. I’d like to encourage all of us to reach out with a hand of support to those who are suffering. As Abraham Lincoln said in 1863 proclaiming the last Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day:

I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and Union.

May you have a blessed day and may God Bless the United States.

Sincerely,
Josh Clark

How you can help Josh Clark right now.

Posted Wednesday, November 25, 2009

The Clark for State House Campaign has experienced an exciting and busy start. We are blessed with an incredible team already coming together so early in the campaign. We’ve been to numerous events throughout District 98. Josh has been busy with one on one meetings, meet and greets, working the phones and raising money. He’s been listening to people’s concerns and sharing his vision for our State based on fresh solutions and conservative values.

Josh Clark is a true believer in the power of a grass roots campaign comprised of everyday Americans such as himself who are united in the cause of conservative principles and freedom. He’s built his businesses from scratch one person at a time and that the way we’re going to build this campaign.

Josh is not just trying to win this one particular election, he’s building a movement that can be a catalyst for change and accountability in our political system. Not the Obama-style “hope and change” but change based on servant-leadership. Change based on limited government, fiscal responsibility, accountability to the constituents rather than special interests. Spend any time with Josh and you realize he isn’t about himself he’s about a cause greater than any of us individually.

We can’t accomplish any this without your help. That’s why we need you to do 2 things for us right now:

1) 100 to raise $100. We are looking for a 100 people who will respond to this message and stand with us by contributing $100 or more. I know the holidays are upon us and things are tight but I can assure you that your investment in this campaign will be a gift that keeps giving. Even $10 or $25 makes a big difference by helping us purchase yard signs, campaign materials and mailings. Perhaps you could even reach $100 by asking 3 friends to join with you and give $25 each or 9 others to give $10 as an investment in their country.

To make a donation click here or make your check payable to Clark for State House and mail it to

PO Box 303
Buford, GA 30515

2) Get your friends connected to Josh’s campaign.
a) You can join the Campaign email list by clicking here.
b) Please invite your Facebook friends to become “fans” of Josh’s campaign. Click here and click on the “suggest to friends” link on the left hand side of the page.
c) You can also follow Josh on Twitter by clicking here. Please invite everyone, but especially your friends who live in Suwanee, Buford, and Sugar Hill.

Thank you so much for doing your part to help us make a difference in the direction of this country. We can’t do this without you. Rather than receiving lots of big donations from special interests we know we can build a much stronger campaign comprised of a lot of people who each sacrifice according to their ability whether $2,000, $1,000, $100, or $10 dollars.

Thank you for your support of this campaign. Together we can truly make a difference in the direction our country is headed by starting right here at the foundation, our district and state.

Privatization of Briscoe Airport

Posted

Wow, privatizing Briscoe Field? It’s about time we ask ourselves why the county is running an airport that’s losing money when we could potentially privatize it and make money for the citizens of this county. Of course, we need to further explore the economic and environmental impacts before proceeding, but this is just one perfect example of why we should seek out privatization of government assets. Instead of Briscoe losing a million a year it could potentially be a lucrative income generator. Now we’re on the right path in asking how can we better manager or sell off losing assets rather than raising taxes. – Josh

On Veterans Day

Posted Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Veterans Day is a very special day to me. From an early age my parents instilled a deep appreciation for those who who served and encouraged us to call the veterans we knew and thank them for their service. I encourage you to do the same with your children. I am profoundly grateful to all who serve and have served. I am deeply grateful to my brothers David and Micah, who are currently serving in Afghanistan, and Luke, who has just completed basic training. I can’t tell you how proud I am of them. Ronald Reagan said it well when he said of this day:

“We remember those who were called upon to give all a person can give, and we remember those who were prepared to make that sacrifice if it were demanded of them in the line of duty, though it never was. Most of all, we remember the devotion and gallantry with which all of them ennobled their nation as they became champions of a noble cause… Our liberties, our values, all for which America stands is safe today because brave men and women have been ready to face the fire at freedom’s front. And we thank God for them.”

So please pick up the phone and tell a Veteran “thank you” today.
