Buford, Georgia–Small business owner, Josh Clark, announced today that he is running for State House District 98 which is being vacated by State Representative Bobby Reese. Reese has announced his bid for the 9th Congressional District in 2010. Clark is running as a Republican.
Clark was born in Georgia and raised in Gwinnett County. As a father of three children with a fourth on the way, he has benefited from the district’s long-standing tradition of providing a safe and inviting place to raise a family. Clark is running for the seat to ensure that this tradition continues to make the district thrive.
“In response to the challenges we are all facing, it is time for a fresh conservative leader who can continue to build upon our success through innovative and fresh solutions,” Clark says.
Clark’s campaign will focus on protecting the community’s quality of life by addressing the pressing issues–reducing traffic congestion, minimizing the tax burden on citizens including property tax reform, and promoting job creation through supporting small businesses and ensuring that our children have the education necessary to succeed. Living on Lake Lanier has helped Clark understand the importance of protecting our water resources. “Not only for drinking water,” he points out, “but also for recreation and the economic impact that has on our community.”
“The district is in need of an enthusiastic representative who will lead with a voice that reflects that of the people who work, live, and play in the community,” he says. “I’m excited to go door to door in order to listen to the concerns of the voters. It is my pledge to represent the district at the capitol with openness, fairness, and an unwavering devotion to the community that has blessed my family with the opportunity to succeed.”
Clark, his wife, Chelsey, and his three children reside in Buford, Georgia, where he runs two local small businesses and is actively involved in the community. He currently serves on the executive board for the Berea School of Ministry, coaches his son’s baseball team and currently serves on the 7th District Committee of the Republican Party of Ga. They attend the “The Family Church,” First Baptist of Sugar Hill.
